You have reached the home of the musical group known as The Cowboy and Hobo Show featuring Cactus Willie, Boxcar Bob and The Drifter.

The music is acoustical with vocal leads and harmonies.  It is a combination of Country, Folk, Bluegrass & Lite Rock n' Roll. The sound is a wonderful blending of all those styles. Very  similar to the Kingston Trio and acoustic folk groups of the 1950's and1960's.  Songs you will remember and a stage presence that is truly professional.

Live performances are full of energy, humor and wonderful vocals. Check out the music samples on this website to get an idea of how we sound.

Be sure and check out our Cowboy and Hobo Days Music Festival being held at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds, Brainerd, Minnesota yearly the weekend after Labor Day. Also, our Cowboy and Hobo Country Shows down in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. 



Meet the members of the group

Cactus Willie

CACTUS WILLIE has performed as opening act for many well known stars over the years. Some include Ray Price, Billy Walker, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Bill Anderson. Known for his wonderful vocals and picking style that closely resembles his famous uncle bluegrass performer Lester Flatt.
Cactus Willie is a true professional with many years of experience performing onstage. It has been said he can sing a Willie Nelson song that will make you wonder if the real one is there. But he does not limit himself to just that kind of sound and likes to mix it up with numerous different styles of music. Part of the FAME AWARDS DUET OF THE YEAR 2008 and 2009.

 

The Drifter 


THE DRIFTER is the acoustic upright bass player for the group. A well seasoned professional with the right sense of humor and stage presence for any performance. Wil Kelley has a background in performing bluegrass, folk and many other styles of music. He is an exceptionally talented bass player and fits vocals when needed. Known for his humor onstage and songs that make you laugh. Awarded upright bass player FAME Award 2009.

 

 

 

 

 


Boxcar Bob


 Boxcar Bob is a professional performer with a stage presence that makes everyone smile. An exceptional vocal with great guitar skill and looks very much like Boxcar Willie. A seasoned talent that has graced many stages and opened for numerous famous acts. Voted vocal of the year 1999 at the South Texas Music Festival. Also part of the FAME AWARDS DUET OF THE YEAR 2008 and 2009.

 


*FAME AWARD (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) was given at the Pharr Convention Center, Pharr, Texas. Entertainers are voted on by this national organization yearly and awards are given to musical/entertainment acts that get the most votes  and reflect great positive family values to the public.
