a lovely evening at the Aloe King Aloe Farm located just off the Expressway in
Mercedes, Texas. Cactus Willie played for an hour at the La Palapa restaurant
(located on site) while our guests enjoyed cold beer, wine and soft drinks. Angelo
served a wonderful country cooked meal of baked chicken, ham, peas and corn,
sweet potatoes, baked potato fries, green bean casserole and topped it off with
home made pie. Following dinner, our guests were invited to wander around the farm
on golf carts.
With over 100 acres, the Aloe King operation isn't just about Aloe Vera. Over 2 miles
of walking trails that meander through brush lines, fields and orchards, our guests
were also able to enjoy an evening of casual birding as the sun set. Upon their return
to the La Palapa Restaurant, Rodeo Texas was playing a variety of country music and
many of guests cut a rug on the dance floor,
while non-dancers either kicked back with a cold beer, or went outside for a round of
horseshoes. All in all, our guests were amazed at the facility and mentioned that the
Aloe King Aloe Farm is a place they don't have to see just once. As a matter of fact,
they scheduled a group tour for 40 and we'll see them again next Thursday!
The Aloe King Aloe Farm gives group tours by appointment, serves lunch daily ($7 all
inclusive), is available for private parties in the evenings and hosts half day excursion
trips for those who want to tour the property ($15 per person or $25 per couple,
lunch and golf cart included). For more information, call Kristi at 956-655-1812.
